I’m very excited to be writing my first post of the year with NET-A-PORTER which is my go to site for investment pieces. I always love refreshing my wardrobe in the new year and organising my clothes for the upcoming seasons. There are so many timeless pieces that I have bought over the years and worn on repeat, especially during the winter months. I wanted to share this post to highlight some of my favourite wardrobe staples and basics from NET-A-PORTER’s wonderful collection. KNITS AND CARDIGANS
There is nothing like a good knit during the winter season. A ‘statement’ knit can really transform and upgrade any outfit, even when styled with simple jeans. I have been obsessed with the Khaite scarlet cashmere cardigans for the past few years, which come in several lovely colours. Although they really are investment pieces the quality is amazing and the cashmere is so thick too (and doesn’t bobble!). It always feels like sheer luxury to wear and I know it will last for years to come. The Ganni ribbed knit cardigan is also gorgeous and at a more affordable price point. I’m totally obsessed with the Saint Laurent ribbed knit cardigan which has a loose and boxy fit. It’s so cosy and has been one of my favourite recent purchases.
COATS
You all probably know how obsessed I am with my Max Mara Teddy coats! They have seriously lasted me for years and years and are probably one of the best wardrobe investments. They are so cosy and easy to style as you can literally wear them over any outfit and work so well when worn with other neutrals. I have also been loving trench coats this seasons as they are so light and comfortable. The Row belted trench is gorgeous and I love the light grey colour. The Saint Laurent leather trimmed coat is definitely an investment piece on my wishlist which is super cool and the leather trims are so chic. I have also been loving my black Totême oversized shell coat which has been perfect for everyday and rainy day walks!
BASICS
Basics are always great investment pieces and a good quality basic can last for years too. I’ve been wearing my Totême leggings for years and the zipped cuffs always dress up any outfit! I also love the high waisted fit and the stretch fabric is so comfortable. The The Row also has a great pair of stretch leggings which have a super comfy elastic waist but at a slightly higher price point.
I always think a simple tank top or tee is useful to wear under a jacket or knit. There are so many great ones, such as the Totême tanks which are great quality and the organic Anine Bing tanks. I also love the Frankie shop ones which have a slightly padded shoulder making an outfit look slightly more chic.
I’ve linked my grey trousers from Frankie Shop which I’ve been wearing lately. They are such a great pair and love the high waist rise and straight leg – the price is amazing too and comes in pink and black. The Khaite Lala stretch turtleneck is also a perfect winter staple. Jeans are always the best basic and there are so many pairs I love which I am linking below. The Ksubi ones are so stylish and are actually now on sale! I’ve also worn the black Agolde ones on repeat which have been a great investment piece. If you’re after a more cosy basic for the winter months, the LouLou Studio cashmere track pants are so comfy and soft.
SHOES
The Row ankle leather boots have probably been one of my most worn shoes in my wardrobe this winter. They are such a versatile pair and although they are on the pricey side I know they will last for years. Bottega have a great pair of chunky boots too. I got so many questions about my Totême croc effect leather knee high boots which are so stylish and totally upgrade any outfit – you will be seeing me wear them a lot the next few months!
I absolutely love Amina Muaddi shoes – they are super cool and totally transform a simple outfit. The red crystal embellished ones are super chic and I’ve also linked the suede pumps if you’re after something more simple. A black sandal is another timeless wardrobe staple and I’m loving the Saint Laurent embellished patent ones.
BAGS
If I had to think about one brand for forever investment bags my choice would be Bottega! They have so many bag styles which I absolutely adore and NET-A-PORTER have such a variety of colours and styles to choose from. I’ve mainly invested in the neutral ones since they can easily be styled and also be worn throughout the different seasons. I love the beige suede handbag which was one of my big investments last year. The Bottega clutch bags are also so useful and upgrade any look – especially in the evening! I’ve linked some of my favourite Jodie and Cassette bags too. I also adore the Saint Laurent Manhattan leather shoulder bag which is super stylish. I’m also absolutely obsessed with the shearling bag which is so so gorgeous.
ACCESSORIES
Accessories always dress up any outfit. I’ve been obsessed with caps lately so I’ve linked some of my favourite ones. I’m also adding in my Celine sunglasses which I get soo many questions about…They are definitely my most worn wardrobe accessory!
